Additional Zotero features Plugins
A.1 Adding Plugins
Plugins are programs that work with Zotero to offer additional functionality or help Zotero work with other programs. They are community-built and managed. The source code is typically hosted on Github .
You can see a list of available plugins here.
A.1.1 Installing Plugins
Follow the link from the Plugins documentation page and download (and save) the .xpi file for your chosen plugin.
- In Zotero go to
Tools ➜ Plugins - Click the
gearicon in the top left corner toInstall Add on From File - Locate Add on file you downloaded
- Enable your plugin via switch
- Restart Zotero!
A.1.2 Recommended plugins
To set up Bibtext so that it can be used most efficiently with Quarto and Rmarkdown documents use this guide
- If you are a latex holdout and want to create more usable citation keys, try installing Bibtex.
- To rename all the pdfs in your library automatically, use zotero-attanger
- To sync your library with the reserouces compiled by the great folks at scite.
- To identify duplicate items in your library, use zoplicate.
- If you want to extract all the references from an existing word document, use Reference Extractor
